Food for the Holiday Weekend

Time for the 5th Annual McLennan Pinecone Festival! The kids are SO excited ...not! Five years ago on Labor Day in an effort to cull the pinecone population in our yard - Tom and I came up with the idea of giving each of the kids a yard bag to fill with pinecones with  a promise of
 "Sundaes on Monday".
 It worked great - until they realized that not everyone
was laboring on Labor Day.
Now it's a bit of a family joke, but it's a tradition nonetheless!

Even if you're planning a "staycation" for the Labor Day Weekend -- we've got you covered!

Party Girl's Ham & Cheese Biscuits
Miniature Buttermilk Biscuits made from scratch and stuffed with Black Forest Ham,a blend of cheeses and Party Girl's special spread

With a blend of tasty cheeses, sausage and a divine "quiche like" filling. The perfect way to say "Good Morning"!

Cauliflower Au Gratin
Cauliflower lovers will be in Heaven and skeptics will be converted with this dish! Fresh cauliflower sauteed and topped with a bechamel sauce, cheese and homemade breadcrumbs. Perfect accompaniment for any meal -

Party Girl's Chicken Salad
Perfectly seasoned, slow roasted chicken tossed with nothing but a bit of celery and mayo. Always for sandwiches, or my personal favorite - on a plate with slices of vine ripe tomatoes.

A favorite for sure! Pesto made from the freshest basil, finest Parmesan cheese and olive oil and tossed with pasta, grape tomatoes and toasted pine nuts.

Take Off Thursday August 26th Confetti Quesadillas


I've gotten a couple of "when are you going to do the Shrimp Quesadillas again?"... so I thought I would put them on the menu this week!

"Confetti" Quesadillas!
Wood Grilled Shrimp, baby spinach and caramelized Spanish onions in a large flour tortilla with a blend of authentic Mexican cheeses.
Served with a dangerously delicious
Chipotle Cream Sauce and Fresh Tomato & Corn Salsa
**as always if you prefer less "confetti" i.e no onions, no spinach, etc. please specify when ordering**

Just simple goodness, black beans seasoned and simmered to perfection!

Back in the kitchen~!! T.O.T August 12th

Ok...fastest Summer on record. I don't know if it went by that quickly because we enjoyed it so much, or if it was because I knew I was putting my "baby" on the bus for Kindergarten today. But bye bye went the Summer and bye bye went the baby - and all is well.

So, now that I have all this time on my hands, lets get cooking!


I've had several requests for an old favorite I haven't put on the menu in awhile, so here it is! As always, you do not have to order everything, but the flavors of all three are wonderful together.

Wood-Grilled Dijon Pork Tenderloin
6.00 per portion (appr. 8 oz)

Goat Cheese & Thyme Grits
Savory, melt in your mouth goodness!

Vine ripe heirloom tomatoes and cucumbers in a Red Wine Vinaigrette
